Dr. Trudi M. Morrison is the only person to have served in top posts in all three branches of the national government. She served the Reagan administration as associate director of the White House Office of Public Liaison and director of the 50 States Project, which studied discrimination in state laws and regulations based on gender. In 1985, she made history by becoming the first woman and the first Black Officer to serve as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate. In 1997, she headed the Fair Employment Practices Office and served as Senior Legal and Policy Advisor at the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, a role in which she was responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Fair Employment Practices Program in the Federal Judiciary. Now retired, Dr. Morrison has commendations from four U.S. presidents, two Senate majority leaders, two chief justices, and three United States Supreme Court associate justices.
